The Break Gauge, a meter that builds up as the characters attack. If the Gauge is full, a Fatal Rush will culminate in a move similar to what the Critical Blow in Dead or Alive 5 would do. There is a new mechanic named the Fatal Reversal, where the character reverses an opponent, stunning them, before appearing behind them, open for a counter. The juggling ground-bounce system in this game is also being enhanced to extend juggle combos.

Customers Critical Reviews

Below are some critical reviews given by customers about Dead Or Alive 6 from purchasing amazon.

william cronin1.0 out of 5 starsGame does not function at launch March 1, 2019Verified PurchaseThis may only be an issue with the PS4 version, but the day-one patch of the game does not install correctly and leaves you unable to play any of the modes. I’ve tried installing and re-installing and using extended hard drives, but no matter what, almost every mode and character is locked out with a message saying it’s not available during installation.

David C. Segura1.0 out of 5 starsThere was no access to the dlc March 5, 2019. I could no access to the dlc that was promised for the pre-order

Lorin Review

Below is the review given by lorin about Dead Or Alive 6 while placing order from Amazon.

Iorin 🙂3.0 out of 5 starsIt’s ok.March 3, 2019.First the goods:
Solid fighting system, fast, fun.Fighters seems to be mostly balanced.
Good net code, online matches work great in my experience out of 60 or so matches less than 10 had any lag and just 1 or 2 were unplayable
-local multiplayer.

-no tag mode
-graphics are ok, but not the generational leap I expect from a new doa iteration

Now the bad:
-lack of online modes, only ranked matches are available at the moment, no online lobbies or unranked matches(no easy way to play against friends)
– DLC price, I don’t care much about this one since I usually don’t buy DLCs but Team Ninja is nuts, the season pass cost over $90!
-story, is ok but for me it was boring and felt like an afterthought.

Flamelord7134.0 out of 5 starsA good but not perfect fighting game.March 2, 2019Verified PurchaseThe game as it is now is a very good fighting game with mechanics to help you get out of being mashed on. Has plenty of game modes. But only one online mode. Theres no tag battles here unfortunately but the 1 on 1 fighting works better than 5. The main issue I have is that there is no longer finishing arcade to unlock costumes. You need to grind it out. Quest is the best way to get it so far.

Mynameispen5.0 out of 5 starsFun to playMarch 7, 2019Verified PurchaseI’m having a good time playing this game. It is fun and engaging with the music, characters, and the “Winner/Great!” announcer guy. The fighting is fluid and responsive, and overall pretty well polished. The graphics for the most part look fantastic. I popped in DOA5LR to compare, and there is enormous graphical improvement, which should be expected. Yes, the online modes are lacking with only ranked, but they said mode is coming later this month.

Tag team matches would have been nice, although it’s not included in the game, I don’t see why they can’t add it at a later date. Sure the $93 Season 1 DLC is kind of silly. but you are in no way required to buy.

Below is the helpful reviews about Dead Or Alive 6 if purchasing through amazon by cory proctor.

Cory Proctor4.0 out of 5 starsInstall “issue”March 4, 2019Verified PurchaseThis is a response to the PS4 install problem.

The game installs while you are at the PS4 Home screen, like most games. However, it’s only a portion of the game. You will only have access to a few characters and free training.

The remainder of the game installs in the background while DOA6 is active, but there is no installation progress indicator so you’re left in the dark. All of a sudden, it’ll just allow you to play the other modes when it’s done. I didn’t time how long this took, but I think it was around 15-20 min.

As for the game itself, I think it’s a great. Similar to DOA5 with a few fight system changes. I’m not a fan of the in-game currency grind for costumes because (as of now) the game gives you so little for every mode except for the Quests. Do note that online lobbies aren’t implemented at launch but you can still play ranked online.
