Liaquat Ali Khan

Ali Khan Sahab was the 1st PM of Pakistan who was born 1-oct-1895 in this city.
He was widely known as Quaid-e-Millat & Shaheed-e-Millat. He was educated at the Aligarh Muslim University in India, and then at Oxford University in the United Kingdom. His father name was Nawab Rustam Ali Khan. The Ali Khan family was one of the few landlords. Nawab Rustam Ali Khan and Mahmoodah Begum are buried at their princely family compound located outside here. His family had deep respect for the Indian Muslim thinker and philosopher Syed Ahmad Khan. His father had a desire for the young Liaqat Ali Khan.

Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College } in 1913. He graduating with a BSc degree in Political science and LLB in 1918. Same year he married with Jehangira Begum. He
returned to his homeland India in 1923. Entering in national politics. He initially campaigned in the 1926 elections. Ali Khan rose to become one of the influential members of the Muslim League. He was one of the central figure in the Muslim League delegation that attended the National Convention held at Calcutta. He was died 16-oct-1951.

He is a politician born here on 13 April 1960. Kaushik became a community organizer in Karnal in the late 80s.  After his father retired, Kaushik moved to Fatehpur.
He is being considered as the BJP candidate from the Karnal Lok Sabha seat. Author and academic D. C. Verma, in his book Haryana, highlights Kaushik’s mobilizing efforts in Karnal since the late 80s. Karnal, historically, was a bastion of the Brahmin caste which Kaushik belongs to and it seemed to people that we would be the next parliamentarian from the constituency.

She was born 1 July 1961 in Karnal. She was an American astronaut and the first woman of Indian origin to go to space. In 1988, she began working at NASA, where she did computational fluid dynamics research on vertical and/or short take-off and landing concepts. In 1993, she joined Overset Methods, Inc. as Vice President and Research Scientist. Her first space mission began on November 17, 1997. She was as part of the six-astronaut crew that flew the Space Shuttle Columbia flight STS-87. She was the first Indian woman to fly in space. In 2000, Chawla was selected for her second flight as part of the crew of STS-107.

On January 16, 2003, Chawla finally returned to space aboard Space Shuttle Columbia on the ill-fated STS-107 mission. The crew performed nearly 80 experiments studying earth and space science, advanced technology development, and astronaut health and safety. During the launch of STS-107, Columbia‘s 28th mission, a piece of foam insulation broke off from the Space Shuttle external tank and struck the left wing of the orbiter. 
She was died in the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster which occurred on February 1, 2003.

Karnal Travel exploring Kalandar Sahab Tomb

Kalander Shah Tomb was built to commemorate the kind service of Bo-Ali-Qualander Shah, who was a noble Muslim saint. The complete building is made of marble. Qualender Shah was buried in this tomb. The grave is built using exquisite marble and has sculptures engraved on it. A mosque and a water tank with fountains were built in the premises of the tomb by Emperor Alamgir.

Kalander Shah wrote “Diwan Hazrat Sharafuddeen Bu Ali Qalander,” which is poetry in the Persian Language. Legends state that Kalander dreamt that Muhammad visited him is a dream and asked him for a wish. He expresses that he wished of prophethood, to which Muhammad denied, as all positions were occupied. From that day, Kalander is known as “Fragrance of Ali.’ Kalander Shah’s Tomb is visited by a large number of believers of Islam. It is respected by all sections of society who follow the teaching of the Holy Pir. The Muslim festivals are celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm at this tomb. The yearly Urs Mela is the most famous.
