This Amazon Review post is about Seagate Hard Disk ST6000NM0004 4KN 6 TB 3.5″. A hard disk drive (HDD), hard diskhard drive, or fixed disk, is an electro mechanical data storage device. In 1956 it was introduce by IBM. Continuously improved, HDDs have maintained this position into the modern era of servers and personal computers. More than 200 companies have produced HDDs historically. HDDs dominate the volume of storage produced (exabytes per year) for servers. The first production IBM hard disk drive, the 350 disk storage, shipped in 1957 as a component of the IBM 305 RAMAC system. In 1962, the IBM 350 was superseded by the IBM 1301 disk storage unit, which consisted of 50 platters, each about 1/8-inch thick and 24 inches in diameter. In 1962, IBM introduced the model 1311 disk drive. It was about the size of a washing machine.
