It is left open to the sky while an eternal flame burns perpetually at one end.Close to it, and east of Daryaganj was Rajghat Gate of the walled city, opening at Rajghat on Yamuna River. Later the rajghat cemetery area was also called Rajghat. Rajghat cemetery has a park adorned with trees planted by visiting dignitaries and heads of state. Rajghat Cemetery is 44.35 acers in total area. Raj Ghat loosely translates to King’s Bank.
